Workshop 4: Compassionate Leadership
Although it is a clear directive that compassion is at the heart of NHS care, the reality of working in the NHS can feel quite different. We may strive to provide the best quality, compassionate care for our service users & patients, but we often find ourselves working in less than compassionate environments.
Team functioning and work satisfaction suffers when we feel under threat, pressurised and facing change. This can affect our behaviour to ourselves and towards our colleagues.
Berkshire Healthcare Trust has developed a 2 day course on Compassionate Leadership' which we are rolling out to teams over the next two years. Our workshop will provide a brief insight into the course and why it is so important.

Workshop 5: Building Leadership for Inclusion: Experiencing a new development approach that has real impact
Building Leadership for Inclusion is a new programme of work that aims to create much needed change across the system for inclusion.
The approach focuses upon ensuring that leadership mind-sets, capabilities and approaches are renewed. This means that leadership and leadership development must be informed by current evidence and innovation; thus making inclusive leadership a reality - transforming cultures for increasing and sustainable levels of inclusion do result across health and care.
This workshop gives participants a taste of an intervention that has helped leaders to think differently about race equality. Come ready to be open, courageous and willing to explore the race and change from a different perspective.
